I have been quoted $25,000 for a new L4330 HST 4WD
tractor equipped with:
LA853 loader
L2240 heavy duty quick attach bucket
L2213 4 pos loader valve
R4 tires - filled
Two rear remotes

This dealer is only a few miles away so the convenience
factor is fairly high. Is this a decent price or would it be
worth it to shop around?

Fill in your bio and tell us little about yourself. What part of the country are you from can be very helpful in coming up with tractor prices? Give the forum a little to work with and you will find most of the information you seek.

About me...

I'm from the Washington-Oregon area. Have 45 acres; about 35 in Doug fir and pine we planted 12 to 18 years ago, the balance in pasture and brush. The land is part flat, part hilly. Will use the tractor for the first thinning over the next next several years, mowing grass and brush on 10 acres or so, maintaining a 1/2 mile driveway, probably preparing another smaller building site, and just general tractor "stuff". We plan to sell a 52 year old D4-7U series Cat dozer that I used to initially clear the land before planting trees and prepare building sites. A 35 year old 35hp wheel tractor is also being retired. The Cat will be missed but I don't have much use for it anymore. The tractor is getting very tired and the operator is also getting very tired of using and maintaining it.

I'm thinking the L4330 is probably my best combination of affordability, usefulness, and creature comforts. Some advice on pricing would be helpful.

Carl

(Anyone need an old but hard working D4 Cat?)

That sounds reasonable, but my "comps" are pretty old. My 4330 HST w/853 and heavy bucket, a cheap box blade and R1s was $21.5, but that was in Dec. 04. Steel's gone up a bunch, the R4s and the remotes account for the difference, I'd say. I did work two dealers against each other. The one in GA had the best price, but I couldn't have gotten it back to him for any service, so I asked the closer dealer if he could match their price. He didn't match, but got close enough to make me happy!

Seems to be a pretty good price. I was recently quoted something similar. It is approx. 10% under list which is pretty good these days. You could possibly get a better deal if you searched around and traveled to get it, but if the dealer is local (and good) that would probably be your best bet.

That price may be closer to 13% off of MSRP (as it includes the 2 remotes), making it a very good deal IMO.

Well, not an HST but here's what I paid for my whole package in June:

4330-DT, R-4, Kubota 853 Loader with QA $22,800
Woods 600 Bush Bull $1,860
6 ft Woods box $800
5 1/2 disc $1,150
Hydraulic Top Link $300
2 rear remotes $1,200

I bought my L4330 HST in late November of last year. I got the 853 Loader, HD QA bucket, R4s filled, no remotes. I'm doing a lot of the same things you'll be doing and I'm perfectly happy. It's a real nice machine.

I also retired an old clunker, a Long 610 gear drive, when I got the Kubota. My only mistake was that I didn't do it sooner.

$24,700 total.

Your deal sounds good to me!

I went to an auction 2 weeks ago that had a 2004 4330 with cab/radio, 250 hours, excellent condition and otherwise the same exact setup as what you described. Sold for $25000. I thought that price was a little high for used. A cab model will typically cost about $5000 more new. Your price price seems about right.
