Re: $24,700

Was that price w/ or w/o sales tax?

I have not priced the L4330 in New Hampshire [equipped as your tractor], but $24,700 is a terrific price. I'd sure like to know what dealership you dealt with in Mass.

Thanks,
The Gardener

That was without sales tax. The dealership is Toreku Tractor in Harvard MA. I also looked at Chappel Tractor in Nashua. Both were very responsive and had competitive prices. I got a slightly more warm and fuzzy feeling from Toreku. I've been happy so far.

Where are you in NH? What type of farm do you have?

Thank you for the dealer names. I will most certainly visit with the Nashua dealership when we are prepared to make a Kubota purchase.

We have a 15 acre property. It was a cow farm a few decades ago [before we assumed ownership], but a good portion had returned to woods: mostly 25 foot sapplings with a few decent hardwoods mixed in here and there.

Presently, we are maintaining about 3 acres of lawn and field. 1 acre is being leveled with a bulldozer at this time. I hope to have that ready for mowing by next spring. We plan to clear about 2 more wooded acres over the next couple of years. Throughout the property, the terrain is hilly with gradual slopes, but very accessible and safe with a 4WD farm tractor.

We sold our 2WD tractor once we moved into the woods to clear more acres. It was time to plan for a 4WD tractor, and one that was larger than our previous tractor. I feel that a Grand L-series Kubota will be a perfect match for our needs, our plans, and our property. But, that's certainly a budget item so we have begun the process of setting money aside for this purchase. I'd like to make as large a down payment as possible.

I am unsure if we'll actually expand our modest vegetable gardens into a more ambitious attempt of growing enough to sell some of the extra. Not having a tractor to assist in this type of expansion at this juncture, it is difficult to think that far ahead. But, we felt that we'd clear some more of the wooded acreage just in case we should decide to pursue a larger effort of "gardening". I think "farming" would be over stated in our case and given our limited understanding and skills ;-)

I am very pleased to read that you are happy with your Kubota and your dealership. I appreciate your help. It is always advantageous to compare pricing between dealerships to determine if the dealer's 'extras' are enough to offset the price differences.

Thanks So Much!
The Gardener

Chappell Tractors is not in Nashua. They are in Milford at the junction of Rte 101 and Rte 13. They have been in business since 1955 and are one of the earliest Kubota dealers in the country. They have about 50 Kubotas in stock as of today and also sell New Holland and several brands of heavy construction equipment. A real full service dealership.

I've been dealing with Norfolk Power in Wrentham mass and MB tractor in Plaistow currently. Both are giving me the same prices - 18,300 for a B3030 with loader and loaded tires, and same price for a similarly equipped L3400. Norfolk will give free delivery, which counters the no sales tax in NH. Norfolk has been a little bit more upfront so far, and is closer.

Anyone have any thoughts on those 2? I'll definitely check out Toreku and Chapell as well.
