My L39 is due for it's 50 hr. service. I talked to two different dealers and one said that all fluids and filters should be changed and the other said that now Kubota only required the filters to be changed. Does anyone know the official stance on this? Money is kind of tight and I don't want to do anything unnecessary but I sure don't want to cause more expensive troubles down the road.

Thanks!

I have a 2007 Grand L 3940. The 50 hr service called for only a filter change on the hydraulics and HST system. The engine was oil and filter, of course. The service manual on my machine does not call for Hydro oil change until I think 300 or 400 hours. I just did the 250 hr service and it was only the HST filter.

Happyman is right. Where is your manual? You have a schedule of services and things to be done.

My manual is right here. It says to change engine oil, transmission fluid and front axle case oil and all the filters. I was confused by the dealer who said he contacted Kubota and was told that the trans fluid didn't have to be changed. BTW the L39 is not HST.

urhh.. that might be why. I'm also HST. I go by that maintainance schedule pamphlet that came with all my paperwork.

But I dont' see why youd have to change the front axle case oil any sooner than I do. I'll look tonight when I get home and see if this makes any sense.

My L39 owners manual and service manual both say the same - all fluids and filters. Only thing my dealer said to me was that I could go with UDT oil and did not have to use Super UDT. The manuals say I can use either also. The UDT is quite a bit cheaper. Anyone know what hyd oil these come with from the factory? I'm leaning to the Super just because it sounds better. Pretty weak excuse to spend more money for a name only.

Personal choice I guess. I believe they come from the factory with UDT. The SUDT has some synthetic properties. If you are in a very cold climate the SUDT is recommended. Some users who really believe in synthetic oils change to after market oils.

The L39 is a great little TLB isn't it.
