L3710 no start

I need some help, I'm trying to fix a neighbors l3710 that won't start the battery checks out but it won't crank. The lights are fine one minute and dim or out the next. We have cleaned the cables, charged the battery, tried a different battery. Could the starter being shorting? Any help is appreciated thanks

Check the voltage AT the starter solenoid before trying to start AND while trying to start.

Even on the 10 series there are safety switches and they tend to be the largest problem with many tractors.

Didja clean and retighten the battery GROUND connection?
