Hi all, My 17 year old ride on mower is finally beyond economical repair and i came to the conclusion a sub compact would better suit my needs. Long story short i accidentally spotted a l3250 for sale..far bigger than i really need but i have the space for it, and honestly it was a bit of a Christine moment..it needs a few bits sorting out but only one thing stopped me bringing her home, the broken lift arm tab..they have made a bracket that is bolted below the pto to carry the lift arm on the side with the tab missing, had no phone on me to take a pic sadly. Would this be a common way to fix it on these models?..i can see the theory being fine but not knowing if moving the load on to the bolts for what i guess was the drawbar mount could end up doing damage. Pretty sure i could come up with a better bracket than they did..its just a matter of knowing where to put load so to speak. Sorry for the terrible description but was hopeful someone with better knowledge of the rear end on the old girl could offer some advice.
The pto seal needs replacing and the rear window..it seemed to start/run fine and in my uneducated opinion seemed in good condition.
Never having a tractor before or even driving one makes buying used hard to judge..i know really i should just get a newer smaller used model from a dealer with some kind of warranty but its love and i want Christine..never planned on a cab either but in hindsight it makes sense..not to mention the stats for her are compelling in general vs lots of newer sub compacts i looked at!
Found a pic of her online.
Thanks for any advice.
Nathaniel.
