L3240 and B3030 Independent PTO?

I noticed that both tractors have an Independent PTO, but the L3240 has a "Master Clutch" pedal and the B3030 has no clutch pedal.

Whats the purpose of the Master Clutch pedal on the L3240 if it has an Independent PTO?

Is the clutch pedal used the same way as a Live Continuous PTO clutch is used.....ie... to feather PTO engagement?

I guess you could feather the PTO. My 3940 is very smooth if you move the lever slowly. I use the clutch mostly for starting and emergency PTO stop.

The way I understand it is the clutch allows you to disengage the transmission during a cold start, putting less initial strain on the equipment until the oil is circulating properly. I hold the clutch for a minute or two, until the engine smoothes out a bit, then let it out to continue the warm up. I am sure it is useful for babying the PTO as well, but haven't had the chance to use mine yet. Too cold!

You can certianly here the load when letting the clutch out on a cold tractor !!!!!!
