L3130 brake warning lamp

On the L3130, does the brake warning lamp tell you when the brakes FAIL? Or does it tell you when the parking brakes are ON?

I have a sneaking suspesion that warning lamp is for when they fail, which is a bummer because I have a terrible track record of remembering to take off the brakes. With all the onboard electronics and whistles and bells that I don't use/need, I am dismayed that there is no warning light for when brakes are locked on. It is SO easy to drive off with the brakes locked on (for me at least).

On my L4330, the brake light is only on when the parking brake is on.

On my Kubota Grand L3830 the brake light is ON when the parking brake is ON. I would imagine your's will operate the same way. Maybe your bulb is burned out or the switch is out of adjustment. Or you are not depressing the brake far enough when putting the parking brake on. :steeringwheel:

There's no mechanism to detect "failed brakes" that I'm aware of.

That is great to know. And now I'm not recalling if the brake bulb lights up briefly when the key is switched to "on". I'll check it. I'd like to get that bulb to work... driving with the brakes on p*sses me off!

Friend of mine owns a 3130. We swap tractors sometimes. Light is on when brakes are on!

Hope to look at the bulb tomorrow... otherwise it will be put back a week or so. Headed to the beach!

Mine quit for quite awhile. Seems to me that the arm that causes the switch to close is connected to the brake pedal linkage under the dash. I recall having to bend it back into place to get mine to work again.
