Tractor
New BX2200 4-3-02 (traded 6-08) new B2620 06-08
I have a friend who has a L3010. Three years old now. Not any problems but he was wondering if there was something he needed to watch out for.

I told him I would ask the folks at TBN if there are any issues he may have to look out for.

Thanks, Tom

There a good tractor and not knowing any more of what he's doing I would say just keep up with the maintence in the manual and he should be fine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

He has kept up the tractor. He is a retired Crane Operator or as the trade calls it a Equipment Operator. Or, as my short military experience called the rate in the Seabee's, EO.

He was just wodering if there was anything out there that he didn't think of.

Thanks,
Tom

I have a 2yr. old L3010-Hst with 285 hrs.,so far no problems.I perform all my own maint. at perscribed intervals. The tractor maintenance is easy to do. Most of the eng. hrs. are mowing hrs.,engine running at 2500 rpm. ,quite fast for a diesel. The engine is very smooth, even at high speed. The tractor is also very maneuverable, outstanding for mowing. The power to weight ratio is very good.I would tell your friend not to hesitate buying the L3010. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the feedback. Guess my Post was misleading. My friend has a L3010 that is now 3 years old.

I have had a few things that needed tended to on my BX2200 and he knows I hang out here at TBN so he asked me to ask the question of the TBN folks "is there something I may encounter with the L3010 that I could look out for"?

Obviosly not any problems. Nobody is complaining. That's good news. That's great news.

Thanks,

Tom

Yup, it's a decent tractor. Clementine has 700 hours on her now, and never a bit of trouble. Maintenance is easy, everything is assessible (well, maybe not the battery), and parts are readily available.

I've got 200 hours on a 3410 - ZIP problems (except for needing to fine tune the FEL control - easy to do).

Who is your Daddy...

What your friend needs to look out for, seeing as his unit is 3 years old, is to be looking out for a new L-3130 /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have about 80 hours on my L3010, most mowing and FEL work. I have had to lube the FEL often and performed the 50 hour service myself, but everything is working perfectly.
I do maintain the tractor to ridiculous extremes.
I also think the shop manual is unnecessary.
