I got my L2501DT with loader, box blade, mower, 48" pallet forks, rear quick connect, and 5 years of Kubota insurance for $19K. I am tax exempt. All implements were the Landpride basic stuff for that the tractor.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me how you are liking your tractor and is there anything you dont like.

I had a L3200hst same machine pre-emissions tweaks only with a HST. Make sure you get the rear tires loaded for traction & stability while using the loader. If you ever plan on using anything but the bucket get the SSQA loader, it's so worth it.

R4s industrials tear up turf less, cary a heavy load better, puncture harder & wear better. R1s ags have better traction. I had R4s on the L3200 & got em again when I upgraded to the L4060hstc. R4 is a compromise over many aspects, but I can live with those compromises.

I'm curious why you would choose the gear drive shuttle shift over the HST?

I can tell you why I went HST, but gear does have a few advantages.

Cheaper
No 15% HST HP tax
I ate cruise control for field work

None of those were enough to make me stray from HST, but they matter to some people in some use cases over the flexibility & ease of use on a HST.

I just worry about problems down the road and the fix being expensiveand i also dont know anything about them. Gear drive just seems like there is less to go wrong.

I love it. It works great. I love the gear drive. Very intuitive and easy to use. In reality I am in 1st gear most the time for what I do. Shifting from forward to reverse or reverse to forward is real quick. It's a true old time tractor without much to go wrong. Plenty of power. The only thing I wish I would have done (didn't know I could at the time) would to have had the dealer reverse my ag rims for a wider stance. My area is hilly and I need a wider stance and still need to load the tires.

I also got the SSQA bucket. Spend the money for that and get the pallet forks. You can do a lot with those two. More so the forks.

Every dealer I've talked to is confused about HST repair just because it comes up so rarely. Your clutch is much more likely to have issues & it's a designed wear part. Anything, including a clutch job requires splitting the tractor, which is kind of complex & expensive.

Generally HST is as reliable as gear trannies & often a little more reliable than some of the complex hydraulic shuttles.

If you do much loader work you will love your HST or hate your clutch. Being able to precisely get the right ground speed to match any implement, even a tiller or snow blower is very nice too. Personally I'll never go back to a HST. The utility & usability is worth the extra cost & HP tax to me. Most of others agree, some don't, but their uses are likely different than mine.
