So, i have decided to build a 3pt skidding winch to go with my L2501. After some research i have decided to go hydraulic vs pto. Mainly because with the 20000 lb braden winch i have, there would be no way to release the drum if the log gets stuck or caught in a rock or stump. So i don't have rear remote only a true 3rd function valve to the front which is for a future snow plow. I am thinking that i can feed a hydraulic motor from that valve to run my winch. The winch i have has a 21:1 gear reduction.
My tractor has 5.15 gpm and 3.13 gpm for steering, so my question is does these add up when i'm not using the steering or not?
Do you think my tractor's hydraulics would be capable of running a motor to run the winch?
