I just got a L1500 & ordered L175 manuals but until it gets
here, there is a lever below the lift lever that seems to be
5/8" round steel & bent like a old time motor crank. It dont
seem to do anything?
Also does anyone know where to buy a new tach cable? And
do I need the comperssion hooked back up?

Chuck

You mean down where your heel would be??

That is the diff lock lever. You stomp on it and it locks the rear wheels together, thus providing extra traction. Should spring off when you release it. Will go in further when driving than trying to push it while tractor is not moving.

Dunno about tacho. I don't use the decomp lever. Just leave it closed.

Cheers

On my Yanmar I pull the compression release and crank it over until the oil light goes out each time I start it cold. I don't know if it really helps much, but a lot of the guys at the old Yahoo Yanmar group swore it was a good thing to do.
