L111 won't run

Any of you guys or gals have a JD L111 Automatic? Mine will run for about half an hour and then it starts to stumble. shut off the mower, throttle back, choke on, and it dies. It will start with the choke on, but doesn't continue to run. I'm no mechanic, but I don't think it is vapor locking. I pulled the fuel line off at what I think is a fuel pump (between the filter and the round black thing before the air intake) and all the fuel drained back to the tank. Now it isn't filling back up again, but the mower started after a little cranking. Any Ideas?

Check the tiny vent hole in your fuel cap. If it's blocked/plugged, a vacuum can build in the tank as time passes and choke off fuel flow. This part of what you have to say leads me to think that may be your problem: "Mine will run for about half an hour and then it starts to stumble."

That tiny vent hole must be plugged, I couldn't even see it. When I mowed with it yesterday it started to stall, so I got off, took off the cap, put it back on, and away we went. New cap?

Sure ---- cheap fix. But the vent hole is there ---- can you see it from the underside?? For no money at all you can just run it with the cap a little loose.
