Just got a "new" L3250. Once I get 5 posts in I am going to post a video of an engine noise it has and hopefully some of you more experienced owners can help me diagnose it!

I needed more HP so I traded my L3430 for an MX5800. I wanted the L6040 but the price was too steep. I really miss some of the Grand L features lacking on the MX series. The customize-able dash panel and tilt wheel are sorely missed. I couldn't do without the seat armrests though so I ordered the Kubota parts which bolt up to the stock MX seat. The deck mat was also a nice feature but shouldn't be difficult to fabricate. I'm not sure if this is common to all Grand L's or not but I liked the dip stick for checking the transmission oil level. The sight glass on the MX is convenient as long as you can read it. The one on my old L3010 turned yellow with age and became very hard to read.

Had my first Regen today on my new Grand L 6060. I was a bit apprehensive about the regen, because my owners manual, the decals on the side, and my dealer all had different instructions on how the regen was to occur.

All 3 were wrong! Here is how my regen occurred;

I was at 99% on the particulate gauge as I was mowing. I was watching the instrumentation closely, expecting to see the yellow "push button" light to start flashing, and an indication on the digital display to raise RPM's. Instead, the yellow push button light never flashed, and a message came on the digital display saying "Regenerating". Never an indication to raise the RPM either. I went ahead and raised the RPM from the 1,800 I was mowing at to about 2,200, but it apparently was not needed. My owners manual also says the yellow pushbutton light quits flashing and remains on (without flashing) during regen; however mine did not. After about 20 minutes, the "Regeneration" digital indication turned off and the particulate indicator showed 0%

After the regen was complete, I pushed the yellow regen button, and it lit up brightly (just wanted to make sure the bulb wasn't burned out).

So that was my experience. Strange how different it was than my owner's manual, my decal, and my dealer said it would be (although all 3 inconsistent.

I've read in a few places early machines needed you to hit the "automatic" button every time you fired up the machine to let it regen at will. Kubota figured out this was a bad idea as nobody remembers to do that every time. So on newer machines it defaults to automatic unless you suppress the regen.

This is a bit off topic. I have an older L4330, and to reach 540 PTO speed I need to be around 2,400 RPM. If you are bush hogging at 1800 you may not be getting the best out of your tractor. My Kubota is designed to run at high RPMs, unlike a lot of the other brands that run around 1700. Mine is too old for the regen's so I can't comment on that.

One way to get around the lack of that rubber mat on the MX and Standard L series with just the painted floor is to cover the floor with truck bed liner coating. I used a generic term, but use which ever one you like. I used Plasticoat on my old L3400. Some said it was the worse of all of the brands, but it never peeled chipped or did anything but stay on there. It really helps with traction and solves the immediate problem of the paint wearing down to the bare metal in spots.

L4240 HST here with ~450 hours. It's a beast - chipper, rototiller, FEL, gannon, spring harrow and no problems. Regular maintenance easy to DIY. I'd buy it again in a heart beat.

I might try this. Did you remove the deck, or mask and spray it in place? Did you have any problems with overspray going through the deck holes and getting on parts underneath?

I removed the deck. Not exactly an easy job. I used the material as a brush on from a 1 gallon can. It went on evenly and looked very good.
