The L series has 2 types, the straight L and Grand L (more expensive w/more options) There are new models up to 59 HP (I think) in the L series worth considering. The MX has only one basic model, 50 HP with a manual transmission (2 & 4 WD) It was intended to be a step between the L series and larger agri based M series. If you are in the 50 HP range, the MX offers a lot for the money including telescoping rear arms. I bought an MX, but then traded it for the larger M7040 that better suited my purposes. Study your needs and the multitude of models available, then all the specs. My experience is that the engines are tough & powerful, but the frames a bit small & light for the HP ratio, the MX struggled with FEL work that I needed to do. The 7040 (almost $8 K more!) is a dream. Just know what you want before you pull the trigger. good luck bb
