Had to disconnect the cable for the tach/hour meter to change a bulb. Tach sort of worked for a while, it bounced
around a lot but now it does not. However, the hour meter does work.

Can anyone help me figure this out? How do I fix this problem?

Would actually be better if neither worked - that would point to a failed mechanical cable from the engine. But if the hour meter still moves the needle movement may be the issue. Dunno where those can be fixed any more. I'd get out my jewelers tools and go after it but it would likely end up in the dumpster.

Take the cable out and carefully reinsert it again.
