Well it has been a long wait, ordered machine last OCT. and took delivery on Friday 02/23/3007. initial reaction it is one nice machine, it has plenty of room, HP, and reach, It will take a little time to get comfortable with the size of the dipper stick compared to the KX 161 it is big.MY son-in-law has it out today clearing trees.

Wow, that is one beautiful machine!

I'm still trying to find its small cousin, the Kx91 or U35!

Sweet, best of luck with the new piece! I ran one around at Ruwet Sibley in New Milford a few weeks ago, it seems really nice. When parked next to a 161 it really doesn't look much bigger, but once you hop in it you certainly recognize the difference. The cab is much bigger and I really like the way they moved the offset boom over to the side for better visibility. Keep us updated on how she performs.

Very nice machine! Much better than I thought they would be. What is it's weight? Do share LOTS AND LOTS of pictures. I'm curious to see it in different positions, the boom looks quite large. She's a bute eitehr way!

You should post some of your 161 too.

They say this is an 8 ton machine, however on the spec sheet the weight is 18364 with a 175 lb operator, maybe in japan they forgot a ton is 2000 lbs.

It looks like the same type of quick attach as the KX-161. Is this true? Would a bucket or hydraulic hammer fit both the KX-080 & the KX-161?

That machine looks really good. Nice & clean.

The size of the bucket quick attach is much larger on the 080 then the unit on the 161, it is the same with 121 will not fit 161. I have not measured it but I would say the spacing on 080 is 1 1/2 larger that 161. I could only wish that one size fits all. I think I posted a picture looking out from inside the cab you can see the size of the thumb it is twice the size as the 161 thumb

Thanks for the clarification. However you would think for the American market they would get the literature to state it in US tons the front of the sales flyer states 8 tons and the back cover states 18364/8330 I would think most people looking at it would think it is only 16000lbs.
