Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

I have been looking at the big three and I also looked at Kioti. The Kiotoi dealer talk ALOT about Kubotas breaking (in half) at the housing while using the loader. He had some pics of the broken parts. They were all larger tractors (35hp). Is this a problem ?? I'm really leaning toward a 7500hst. Any info will be helpful.

Hammer, I've never even heard of a Kubota breaking like that except for improper use of a 3-point backhoe.

I have never heard of this, and it certainly isn't a common occurrence. I'd be surprised to see it happen from FEL use.

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

Hammer I have owned a 7500 HST for 14 months and use it on 8 very hilly acres and it has never failed me. I am up to 160 hours of mowing, hauling tons of dirt, (had an addition put on the house and had the contractor leave the dirt from the basement dig out), digging out a small pond, hauling stone for a 75' wall and much med. size tree clearing. I will break long before the 7500 gives out. Wally

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

P.S. While the Kioti will cost a lot less, replacement parts could be a problem. You need to check out availablility and Kubota parts are not interchangeable

Hammer
My gut feeling is suspicion of the dealer. I know of a completely different product purchased by a company, altered, and then shown to possible customers in a side by side comparision with their own. Been years since I had thought about that, and your post brought it back. I'll watch this thread for a while, IF this happened, someone on TBN would carry more weight with me than another brand of tractor manufacturer. Good Luck with your search!

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

How about posting the dealer name and the pics he showed. If it is the truth, the world should know. If it is pure fiction -- well, the world should know that too. The internet can be a great tool for spreading misinformation.

If I can get a hold of the pic I'll post it.

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

No way the Kubota could break in half from loader use. The front tires might bust, or the cylinders might bend (I doubt it), but the tractor ain't gonna break in half. The loader just doesn't put that particular kind of strain on a tractor.

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

In almost 14 years of working on primarly Kubota tractors I have never seen anything even close. Be careful with Kioti, dealers even have a hard time getting their own parts. I have dealt with 2 dealers who sent the tractors back after they never even got their initial parts orders.

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

In 26 years of being around Kubota I'll agree with the consensus... If you look at how the Kubota's loaders are set up... with a brace all the way to the back, the loader force is distributed throughout the whole frame. Other things would give before you could come close to damaging the housing.

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

Remember, the picture can only show what the failure looked like AFTER it occurred-not how it happened.

What parent company owns Kioti?

Ever wonder why the Kioti models look like Kubota models?

Re: Kubota\'s breaking ?!?!?

Not if it was a Kubota loader.

I don't think you can find a case of that kind of damage with any correct loader or backhoe. There's all kinds of ways to damage equipment but I can't see that happening. Crack one loader arm, yes, bend one, yes, but the tractor?

Anytime ANY tractor or anything-else dealer starts blabbing about his competitor, head for the door, he is either ignorant, a liar, or just trying to rope in the one-born-every-minute.

Any dealer worth his salt doesn't need to badmouth the other brands, even if he HAS seen something. Compare the differences, yes. Most business people I have learned from go out of the way to NOT practice such tactics as it cheapens them.

I do remember hearing a JD dealer badmouthing Yanmar engines, which was funny since at the time Yanmar was powering the green, maybe still so /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
