I don't know about the rubber track machines, but usually it requires that a pin be removed and the track put back on the sprocket and pulley. Some machines use grease that is pumped into the track area to put pressure on the track and keep it on. The more important question is not how to put it back on, but why it came off in the first place. Under some strenuous situations, it is possible to throw a track, but this is rare on a well maintained machine. My old Oliver would occasionally throw a track but that was a result of the sprocket being worn and the track needing new bushings and pins.. Sorry I can't help you any more than this, but TBN is primarily for wheeled tractors, not track machines.....

Thank you very much for your response, the track, sproket and front roller seem to be in good condition, but the adjustment may hhave been off. I fiqured I could adjust it if I knew how to put it back on. I was backing up a very steep mountain while digging an electric line trench and just heard a loud pop, then noticed the track had come off. Thanks again for the info, I'll try again in the am to seek the solution. Tim

Tim most of the the Kubota excavators use grease to push the front roller out to keep tension on the tracks.

First jack it up just enough to get the track to slide back on. If you jack it up to high you will just fight gravity, as it will want to sag in the middle.

There should be a cover about 1.5"x3" on the side of the undercarriage and behind that you will find a grease fitting. You need to remove the grease fitting to relieve the pressure. Then push the front roller in, which will push out more grease and should give you enough room to get the track back on.

Once it is back on, install grease fitting and pump it up until you have proper track tension.

Hmmm: this is probably unrelated, but. We had a guy come out with a "Daedong" track hoe (Is that what you call them: a bubble of cast iron with a backhoe stuck on it?) to move some dirt and manure and pull a few stumps. He left behind three 8"-long pieces of steel with bits of rubber stuck to them in the dirt. My wife showed him one and said," Is this part of your machine?" He said that he hoped not and kept digging. Every so often we heard a little clanging sound from down low on his machine. I think this man was in some kind of denial. (But then his tracks DID stay on.)
