Good questions.
The Kubota dealer I buy from is one of the largest in the northeastern US. I've purchased 7 tractors from them over the last 40 years. I'm a good customer and have always been treated fairly when dealing with them in the past. The answers I get aren't always what I want to hear but I have no reason to doubt them. I've met the regional Kubota rep a few times and I'll ask the next time I see him.
Taking delivery of the tractor now is always a possibility but it would create some problems. Optional equipment, like the large alternator, defrosters, rear wiper and air seat could be added at a later date but then, there is the down time to consider. Right now, I have the open station
L6060 set up for winter use. I would have to do the same to the new machine after I trade the old one. The new tractor has turf tires. The R4's I ordered are back-ordered. I would have to put chains on them for snow removal. The chains would mark up the turfs making them unsalable as new after the R4's are installed.
All this can be negotiated with the dealer but as it looks now, It will be less of a hassle to wait. It would be different if I didn't have a machine to use in the mean time. Winter is almost half over and I can live without a cab for the rest of the season if necessary.
