Kubota M62 Cranks, Won't Start, Backhoe/3PH Interlock Issue (SOLVED!)

When you connected the backhoe hoses did you also change the two valves under the seat? Tractor deadheading the hydraulics?

Slime in stored or low hour equipment diesel fuel always a problem in warm humid climates that has to be considered.
That was exactly my second comment to him (on his youtube video) after mentioning the cut out, and to make sure they were hooked up and set right.. exactly.

That would be too much like tempting fate, not to mention being hard on the starter. 😄 What I did do, though, was to carefully roll over to a stump on a flatter part of the lot here, run the RPMs up to about 2200, and give my rusty backhoe skills some dusting off. It was a small stump, and old, and it came out in just three bites. Meanwhile, dark clouds were moving in from the north, and to stick close to the house, another stump, a pair of them, seemed like they also needed some attention. The small one was a manzanita, and came out in only one bite. The oak, on the other hand, had what was left of three trunks. After an hour of busting roots to dig a box around it, it still barely moved when I pushed it with the FEL. About that time raindrops were falling, the temperature had dropped into the mid 50s, and it was time for lunch anyway. After wasting the rest of the afternoon trying to figure out Medicare, I did crack a beer, on the back porch, but it was too cold and windy out there to sit long enough to finish it. Today I hope to finish with that oak, then head up the hill to see about digging the terrace I need for a new water tank. I have a feeling it's a much bigger job than I thought, so I'd better get started...

Something else to check on your Kubota, based on our chat today about you having that yellow ***** cat thing in your yard, don't worry, I won't tell them.... sheeesh ;) but I digress, here is the thing I mentioned on Youtube, figured others may find it handy as well so here's a link to the post I just did and a link to the video... it was originally done for a friend with no plans for youtube so forgive the shaking and poor quality, but good points none the less.

Try as I might, I haven't managed to break it yet. But I do have a slow leak on one of the front tires that's probably a bad valve stem. Kubota uses rubber stems in the front, so I'm going to track down some steel ones. Anybody got a recommendation?

Good stainless steel bolt in off eBay for about $1ea. Tractors, trailers, trucks 🛻 get changed after having a rash of stem failures. Run Gempler’s bullet proof leak slime in the tractor fronts. High ply and extra deep treads on the M59 front tires.

Do think the air in the tire dose react some with leak stopper and requires at least yearly re-pressure in the first couple of years.

Interesting..... I have a slow leak in my front right, assumed it was just me...

Tried the crawl feature, but ended up just picking up the FEL a little bit then shoving the tractor forward with the backhoe. FEL back down and back to work. I thought the crawl feature would be perfect for making small adjustments when attaching implements to the 3PH, but it engages too abruptly and moves the tractor too far. So at this point I really don't know what it's good for, especially since it only works if you're sitting in the seat.

The ground here is really, really rocky, and about half of what came out of the trench was rock. There were places I couldn't get deeper than a foot before I hit really hard bedrock, so I had to call it good. But I needed to screen what came out of the trench to keep the rocks in the fill from puncturing the plastic pipe in the trench. So I made a set of grizzly bars with a little help from a neighbor. Most of the steel came from the junk yard...

I found a 12" trenching bucket at a used equipment dealer up in Medford, Oregon. That's what I was taking out of the VW van for that photo you remember. Saved way more than the cost of gas over the price Kubota wanted...

But that reminds me, I did bust a hose digging that trench. Steep hillside, a long way from the garage and no way to move it. A local shop made a new hose, but it was a real PITA crawling into all that hydraulic mud under the tractor to change it. Kubota lines aren't really that robust...

Glad you survived Snomageddon. Got a few inches here a couple times, but it was mostly gone by noon. Only the third or forth time in 13 years I've seen snow here...

Got a link to those valve stems? There must be a million of 'em on eBay and Amazon...
