Bought a 2016 Kubota M62 with 113 hours on it from an outfit in Texas, and it just arrived today. It started right up to offload from the truck, then started again just fine to run it up the driveway to the garage. There I noticed a hole in the plastic front grill, and when I popped the hood, found that the air cleaner canister and plastic hold down strap were broken. About a 4"x6" piece was missing out of the canister. Pulled the cap off, blew out the filter, took the canister off and covered the missing spot with duct tape. Put it all back together, but when I tried to start the tractor it would crank, catch, and then immediately quit. I can hold the starter on, and it will continue to spin, but no more firing of the engine takes place.
I thought maybe it got a gulp of air in the fuel system as it came down the steep ramp off the truck, so I bled it many times, for maybe a total of ten minutes, all per the operator's manual. No joy. Pulled the fuel line where it comes out of the pre-filter, and it's pumping plenty of fuel. Maybe it also swallowed a gob of gunk off the bottom of the fuel tank when it came down that ramp, but there's nothing but fuel in the moisture separator.
So that has me wondering if there's a safety interlock switch somewhere that might be tripped. There's one in the seat cushion, and another sticking up under the seat, but are there more? And would a safety interlock cause this behavior?
Haven't purchased the shop manual for it yet, but it's on the list.
Anything else I could try while I'm waiting?
