Thanks for pointing the thread out. I'm supposed to make a decision on the purchase today and it does give me a reason to pause. I wonder what percentage are having the issue? There is a thread going right now about transmission whine.
Mine does not whine. And I like the M4. I wrote a more detailed review on OTT...Thanks for pointing the thread out. I'm supposed to make a decision on the purchase today and it does give me a reason to pause. I wonder what percentage are having the issue?

Orange Tractor TalkWhat is OTT?
I'm thinking of purchasing a M4D-071HDC12-D. Anyone here have one? Any known issues? Not really a ton of information out there on it. I did see the Messick video on YouTube.
Thanks
I have read and reread the thread. At this point I think I'm going to pass on the M4D-071HDC12-D. I just don't want the down time, the back and forth and the trouble that goes with it. I like a lot about the M4, but for my use, a MX6000 can work too.Take a look at the current thead on the Kubota Owning & Operating Forum right here on TBN.

Kubota M4 Utility Tractor Transmission Whine
Everyone, I have a Kubota M4 (M4D-071HDC12) utility tractor I bought back in 2019. I like the tractor very much, but when the tractor is working for an hour and the transmission oil gets hot, the transmission will start whining when the tractor is stopped. This have been happening six months...www.tractorbynet.com
In the first message is a video where you can hear the noise plainly. And then several pages of discussion from people who seem to know. So far it doesn't appear to have had any negative effects other than heating the hydraulic fluid....and the rather loud noise, of course.
I've been following along from a interest in mechanics and hydraulics professionally - and apparently others have too.
Kubota is aware and seems to be working hard to fix it at several levels - but so far without success. Several current owners of M4s are weighing in on this & don't seem to be concerned. Other than that, they do like the tractor.
Frankly, if I was buying one I'd want that issue and some sort of resolution agreement written right there into the buying contract. And I might just include a time limit. But that's just me and the way I do business.
As it sits this week, the noise is something they expect Kubota to take care of completely.
We'll have to see.....It wouldn't stop me from getting serious about what looks like otherwise a good tractor.
just sayin'

It has the option for a creeper gear. Mine brand new one has it. And it's cheaper than the creeper gear for the M4D by a few hundred dollars.
M4 is the deluxe version of the 7060, all the bells and whistles. Think of the 7060 as a F250 and the M4 is the King Ranch edition, gives up a few PTO HP as trade off.

M5 is the next step up for engine size.
M6000 and 7060 are just different engines.

That's good to hear that a creep range is available. Could you post the speeds in creep range? Can you use the creep for all 12 gears?
