Kubota loud engine

Howdy,

I have a Kubota L2250. Great tractor, has about 700+ hours on it.
The engine is very loud, louder than I've heard on other Kubotas,
but the muffler is fine, I think. The noise seems to come from the engine block, not the exhaust. I don't detect any leakage from the exhaust gaskets either. This is the only deisel I've had experience with.

Any thoughts?

It may be best to have another set of ears listen to it that knows what it should sound like, there may be a potential problem that could get real $$$ if not looked at.

I had an L2250 for 4 years before moving up to a larger tractor last summer. I was always amazed at how quiet and smooth the engine ran. It was very easy on fuel, too. I always put a c-tane booster (I use Power Service) in the fuel, it seems to make them idle more quietly. The exhaust got louder while I had it, but comments here on TBN said that the mufflers will deteriorate internally and get louder. I never changed it out and it was running fine when I sold it. Diesels do run louder than gas engines, but, as mentioned above, if you have concerns maybe let someone familiar to diesels listen to it.
