The primary reason why I purchased the Green weld on bucket grapple and the Vevor add on debris forks is adaptability with existing equipment. I already have enough 'stuff' and adding a dedictaed grapple would just add to the stuff inventory.
I can remove both the clamp on debris forks as well as the Green grapple from the bucket (I used the light duty material bucket I own as the base for the Green grapple). I can remove both the grapple attachment as well as the forks in a couple minutes if I require the bucket for other tasks and both my M9's are SSQA 2 pin attach to begin with and I already own a blower (72" lucknow rear mount blower as well as my 10 foot power angle snow plow that is SSQA in the first place, not that I like plowing snow, because I don't. Cost wise, the Green grapple as well as the add on forks were a ton less expensive than a dedicated grapple to begin with other than welding on the hrapple base which was a non issue for me. Remeber, I own and operate a welding and fabrication, short run machine shop so I have the tools necessary for that modification.
I'm all about multi use implements and easy interchangeablilty and the Green grapple as well as the Vevor clamp on debris forks meet that requirement for me. There we a ton of negative reviews on Amascon concerning the Vevor clamp on DEBRIS forks but it was easy for me to surmise that people were buying them and useing them to mover heavy things like boulders and bending them. Not designed or built for that. They are built for DEBRIS removal only. I aso own a set of SSQA heavy duty pallet and skid forks rated for 6,000 pound capacity and the Vevor debris forks aren't for that at all.
I used the light duty material bucket (remember I own a HD excavation bucket, actually 2 of them as well) and all of them are SSQA. I would never add the Green grapple to either round back excavation buckets anyway. The added weight of the Green grapple and the Vevor debtis forks is inconsequential for me as my lift capacity on either tractor I own, far exceeds what I'd ever pick up anyway.
I could not see buying an additional dedicated grapple attachment so I went the add on grapple route I already have enough 'stuff' in the barn as it is. I also like the fact I can remove the Green grapple quickly if necessary as well as the clamp on forks and use the bucket for other tasks like what it was designed for, material (dirt) handling.
They certainly are not for everyone but for my use, they are an ideal addition as are the clamp on debris forks. If the Green grapple and debris forks were for everyone, then no manufactirer would build of see dedicated grapples or heavy duty pallet / skind forks. In fact, clamp on forks on ANY light duty (single sheet bottom) material bucket and using them to move heavy objects or use them for prying something (like a stump loose from the ground) will impart a 'smile' in the bottom of the bucket and render it useless for dirt levelling tasks. I've repaired a lot of smiling, light duty buckets over the years where owners did just that and bent the lower sheet and why I own the HD double bottom sheet round back excavation bucket as well.
When you bend the lower sheet on any material bucket, you also pull in the side sheets and they most times require cutting them away to level the bottom sheet and then rewelding the side sheets again and none of that is a quick or cheap fix.
