Kubota L4060 or L4760 narrow setup for sidewalks front attachment info needed

Hello,

I'm really in need of some advice from you experts!

Looking to set up an L4060 or L4760 for snow removal. Tractor needs to be narrowed to fit down a sidewalk. The series I'm looking at has decent road speed, which is a must as the tractor/machine will be roaded from site to site.

-Spoke with the dealer whom said we can narrow the stance with rims and tires, which would get us close to 54"-56".

-Looking into an inverted blower for the rear around 72", maybe 84" for driveways and smaller parking lots. We get wet snow more times than not, is an inverted a bad idea since you have to back over the snow in order to clear it? I was thinking a Provonost or something similar with an hydraulic edge on it to pull the snow out then blow it.

-For the front setup I need an option to setup a broom, plow, and snow blower. **The catch is the attachments need to be less than 60" in width, and I don't believe the sub frame quick hitch mount on the 40 series has any options for attachments less than 60" in width?

I don't want to run the attachments on the FEL as I've heard its cumbersome and not the greatest.

Can anyone please provide me with some information in order to set up this tractor narrow as mentioned and with a blower on the rear and snow attachments as mentioned for the front at less than 60"?!?! Any other options and information would be greatly appreciated. I've looked into Toolcats, Holder, we have (2) Ventracs, and looked into about every other option. Toolcat is ideal, just cant get it down below 60" in width. The Holder is too darn big for what we do and couldn't clear larger spaces very well as its narrow and meant for sidewalks and or really deep snow.

Not sure what the budget is, but what came to mind is to get the normal (narrowest available) attachments you need and have a fabrication shop narrow them to your specs. Another alternative would be to get the narrow attachments for smaller tractor and have fabrication shop adapt them to the quick hitch for your tractor.

How wide are the narrow M series?

Then next thing I am thinking of is a B3350 but the road speed won't be as good as an L or M.

Is there a reason why you want a tractor as large as the L4060 if you're going to use it in close quarters? Are you going to use it for purposes other than snow removal? If so, the rollover risk is something to consider when running with a narrow track. Also keep in mind that if you set the track width to minimum, you may not have enough fender clearance to install chains on the rear tires. Snow removal tasks can often be difficult without them.

The track width on my MX5800 HST is 72". The high gear road speed is 22 MPH. I use a 3 pt. Woods 74" snowblower (not inverted) and other than the stiff neck I get from looking over my shoulder, it works fairly well. I also used the Woods on my old L3430 HST which had a 60" track. It had a slower road speed of 16 MPH.

Its a long shot, however I was hoping to set up the rear pto with an inverted or rear blower of sort that is wider in order to clear residential driveways and smaller commercial sites. I would have a set of narrow wheels and tires for winter in order to reduce the overall width of the tractor to less than 60", then a set of wider turf or ag tires for the summer. I would then run a 60" or less plow or broom on the front in order to fit down sidewalks (Angled would be closer to 54" which helps for clearance). The sidewalks would be at residential sites so the wider rear snow blower in the raised position shouldn't effect anything with the overhang beyond the sidewalk. Our average snowfall isn't much more than 55" inches so banks along sidewalks aren't too tall where the rear snow blower in the raised position wouldn't knock snow onto the walkway. If that did occur it would be easy to make one more pass with the front broom or plow to clean-up.

Most guys seem to just run a tractor with inverted blower or rear blower to clear driveways and they either don't contract to clear walkways at all, or they have another crew come through and clear them. Setting up a machine to do both driveways and walkways would save us a lot of man power. Residential accounts are simple if it only entailed the driveway, however adding in private and city walkways as we have then becomes labor intensive.

The L series tractors have about 16mph road speed which is tolerable if the tractor is setup to save time and cost on labor. The only other option is looking into the M Series Kubota (Narrow version) that is already setup for nearly 48" width. The road speed increases to around 22mph, which is great, however I don't know if any front attachments such as a broom or plow are offered for that model?

Again I'm looking for any feedback, recommendations, do's and dont's.

Are there even front hydraulic hookups on the M series (narrow version) in order to run the angle of a plow or broom?

I'm not sure if the M narrow have a loader joystick, i don't think they do. It would not be real hard to add front hydraulics.

I snapped a pick of a couple at a dealer a few weeks ago. These had tracks on the rear.

A small V blade would be nice on a M narrow for sidewalks.

I just upgraded from a 60" track L3200 to a L4060hstc. Mine is set to 72" & could go wider. Pretty sure I can go as narrow as 66" but that probably requires R1 ags (I have R4s). Taking twice the tractor to narrower than my old L3200 would scare the crap out of me. I never had issues with the L3200 & had it heeled over to the point the high side lost traction. But my new 72" machine feels so much more stable even though it's taller.

If you get small impliments they will likely be small not narrow. A L4060 will easily beatup small light implements. You may want to get normal sized gear trimmed down so it will be beefy enough.

To me this sounds like trying to make a machine operate outside of its working parameters. I'd look at a small SCUT for the sidewalks.
