I was looking at used tractor today for my 20 acre. the property is mostly wooded. the purpose of the tractor would to be maintain 300ft gravel drive way and parking area. to bush hog the 1 acre field. Move a little bit of dirt with a fel. I do have a compact track loader for bigger things it just fuel cost of transporting it 160 miles is getting expensive. I believe the l3400 will fit my needs but looking at different option. The Kubota dealer is about 5 minutes from the property thanks for any input

Do you have any hills on the drive? If lots if hills you will be in low gear going up with a loaded bucket and box blade full!
Well steep like mine anyway....
Mine used to handle it fine. But with age comes wear.....

If all flat I think you'll be fine.

The L3400 is a great small tractor. It is light but powerful. the light weight can be good at times, but not so good at other times. So...how is this woods?? Wet? Soft spots? Hilly? The L3400 does tread pretty lightly as to not tear things up too bad, but can hurt if you plan on dragging some big logs or what-not.

Grading the drive should be no problems. And moving dirt should be a walk in the park too. The loader is pleanty strong enough to move full buckets of dirt (~10 cu ft) provided you have good ballast. And bucket teeth really help there too.

Only other thing to watch, since you mention grading and bushhogging, is the infamous jerky 3PH. Some dont have issues with it, others do. So test it out with a heavy implement and see if it is acceptable to YOU. It only does it when trying to raise it very slowly.

Drive way is flat and there is only one hill and that at the back of the property that leads up to the adjacent landowner. The tractor is a 2008. With 200 hr on it so i think the jerkiness was fixed by then. They are asking 14k for it.

There were much fewer complaints about them around that time :D But check it out anyway since grading (making small adjustments for a smooth finish) was one of the "problem" areas. 14K... glad to see it holding it's value but again I would be shock to price a new one, I bet. It should work well for you...

L3400 great all purpose pull pushing etc. etc. tractor.
Rear fill tires will make BIG differents.

Its a good tractor and will do a lot.. I also recommend the loaded tires and proper ballast on the rear. That will make up for the lower initial weight. The loader is good, powerful and snappy to operate. Mine was a 2010 and still had the jerky 3pt hitch. Again only when raising it slowly, it comes up in a series of jerks. Whether this bothers you or not is up to you. You can put the position control past where you want the implement to be, and slowly feather the control down.. It is entirely smooth going down at any drop rate. It also goes up smoothly if you move the position control lever all the way up at one time. It is only if you try to move the control slowly up that it is jerky. The Hydrostat is very smooth to operate and has a lot of torque, will spin even the fully loaded tires even with 750 lbs of ballast on the 3pt if you push into something that will not move.. It will not stall the engine or hydro. The tires will spin. This assumes of course that the range selector is in Low.. I would Imagine it would go into relief in Med. or of course HI. I have never done it, because there is no point in it. I had zero problems with the tractor. I have traded it for a larger Kioti, time will tell if this was a good idea or not:) It does not have a lot of luxury features ( My new Kioti does) but it is a very solid, well built, reliable workhorse. Good Luck
