Kubota L200 - good to restore?

Just found an identical tractor to your pic. In excellent shape with 500 hours, owner inherited it. Battery is dead, and is asking $2600...Is this a good deal or not? Do these have live PTO? Are there parts available out there? Any info appreciated.

I just bought one of these off Craigslist, the PO described her as

This is one of the oldest Kubota tractors in California. Been in parades and received a award for being the oldest serial # still in use.
It has been in the family for 40 years. Runs fine and has working rototiller. 2 cylinder diesel. Needs paint and tlc but she is a little workhorse.

I'm wondering about it being the "oldest serial # still in use", and so I'm really looking forward to learning more about this tractor. PO will deliver it in the next few weeks, and I'll report back when I get more info.
