Kubota Insurance?

I've been having KTAC for several years. They cover my tractor, bush hog, and backhoe. There is a "cash" coverage that is listed, so I guess that's what they pay in a total loss. I have not had any claims, thankfully, but I did call them a couple of times to clarify and straighten out a coverage issue, and they were easy to deal with. It's only about $300 per year and it covers most hazards. A friend of mine with a JD called his agent to get similar coverage and it was substantially more than KTAC charges me.

I have bought a "few" Kubotas over the years. Took KTAC on some of them and some I didn't. My homeowners covers if on my home property but not if off the home property. Equipment I knew I would use off my property I took KTAC.
Just purchased a new L3901HST FEL, LP Grapple, LP Rotary mower and elected to let my homeowners cover it. Found my current homeowners coverage is much higher than another company so considering changing ins company. New company wants additional $290 year to cover $25000 in tractor value sooooo I'll probably go KTAC if their price is close to that for the $25000 coverage.
Anyone with $25000 coverage that will give me a cost for KTAC I'd appreciate. I'll resort to calling them if I get no response. :)

I'm looking at my coverage with KTAC.. Is it only coverage for the basic machine? What about the implements installed during purchase?
The coverage I'm paying for is based off the total price of the loan out the door.
I guess what I'm asking is... If she catches on fire and is total burned toast,, will the Backhoe and FEL attached be included in the claim?

Rate quoted from Kubota as of Feb 2017: $1.35 per thousand of purchase price per year.

$25,000 would come to $33.75/month or $405/yr.

When you request a quote, they will ask for serial # of the attachments also. I didn't get coverage when I got the loan-I changed my mind a month later, and requested quote. They need to know price of equipment, then they base cost of policy on that. My cost for 1 yr. is $234 for $15k value.

Why not make a simple phone call to KTAC. They are very cordial and helpful. Have model and serial numbers handy. Like me I would recommend not insuring low value or non-dynamic items such as blades and rakes.

I was already here and knew I'd be back so saving time/step to get ballpark figure before nailing down exact figure plus gives me time to ponder what amount/equipment to insure for the value. I have talked with them before so not afraid of them. :) This new company getting quotes from said $1.25 per thousand and I thought I told them $25000 value but their annual total cost is $290? Somewhere a math error, failure to communicate or? They also like annual premium payments instead of monthly and charge more to prove their preference on the homeowners so may be the same on the tractor ocverage. I'd pay a bit more for KTAC but probably not $100 more per year. Will get more specific info from both before writing a check/credit card number given.

Indian MC,

You're wrong about the claim process and payment.

For a previous post from someone else, the dealer should have provided a copy of the insurance dec page. The dec page prints out with the contract and other documents so you should have left the dealership with everything you need. If you didn't get one, call KTAC at 800-348-5802 and we will be happy to send you a copy.

As far as the claim process, KTAC is not in business to handle dealer inventory or Kubota's inventory for that matter. For a total loss (including theft), the insurance payment is made to the policy holder which is either Kubota Credit (if the equipment is financed) or the owner (if paid off). If the equipment is damaged and needing repair, the check is cut to an authorized repair shop and the customer has to endorse the check (to verify they are satisfied with the repair). My wife's car (Lexus) was wrecked and our insurance provider told her to take it to some independent repair shop. I called them back and told them the Lexus dealership she bought it from will be doing the repair work because I wanted Lexus parts and paint. They finally made an "exception" and agreed to pay extra for the Lexus dealership. Note: I got stuck with my wife's old car so you better believe I am going to take care of her new one!

I want to echo how nice it is to have a "big" corporation provide information on a forum such as this. Whomever you are as an individual should be commended for your ability to provide real information (not PR speak) without getting entangled in adversity.

Must be difficult but is both useful to us and great PR IMHO.

John, be sure you compare apples and apples. I doubt any one else provides the comprehensive coverage and no hassles like KTAC.

Thank you for the compliment. I (Brian Carter) am the director of operations for Kubota Credit and KTAC Insurance. I prefer to be a big company that isn't too big on ourselves. First, Kubota is a tractor company that offers insurance through KTAC not the other way around (the priority is keeping Kubota customers happy as much as possible) . Second, I am an honest person (God fearing) and bleed orange (can't we all just get along??? hahaha).

Thank you for being a part of this Forum. A wealth of information for all of us new folks. Here is my question. I purchased my new 2601 with Backhoe and FEL attached with KTAC insurance figured into the loan. Am I covered for the whole note? Or, am I only insured for the Actual Tractor only, without the attached implements purchased during delivery?

Whole note. If the insurance is purchased as part of your retail contract (included in your financing), everything listed on the contract is covered. Disclaimer: Sometimes a dealer will try to do the customer a "favor" by "hiding" a trailer or something non-Kubota in the sales price of the tractor. The reason for doing this is because Kubota only offers 0% on Kubota (or some alliances such as Land Pride). A dealer may hide the other brands so the customer doesn't have to pay an interest rate on it. By not disclosing the trailer (in this scenario) on the contract, it would not be covered by our insurance (the dealer would also be facing some issues with Kubota Credit).

I understand what you're saying. You have to draw the line. Kubota brand and " Land pride " implements will be as far as you go.
Can't blame you for not taking responsibility for Trailers, T-Shirts, and off brand implements rolled into the delivery.

Thanks for being an active advertiser/partner with us. So often things come up for discussion that could be clarified if a dealer would just chime in instead of a bunch of questionable speculations roll on. Your company is a breath of fresh air. keep up the good work. I promote KTAC as much as I can.

KTAC

I realize this is an old thread. But I am about to buy a Kubota B2601 plus several attachments -Kubota and Landpride. I cannot figure out if KTAC Ins covers damages to people or property of others off my property? Please clarify.

/ Kubota Insurance? #38
I am relatively certain that they are covering the tractor only. No other property, or people (including the operator). On or off your property is irrelevant.

/ Kubota Insurance? #39
Machine and any covered impliments only. It will cover things on or off your property or doing commercial work. It doesn't address any liability stuff at all though.

/ Kubota Insurance? #40
I have to agree, reading through my info, it covers my machine and the implements I bought, but has no liability protection.
