Can't find where Kubota offers a spanner wrench that fits their hydraulic filters with notches. Found this one on Amazon. Anyone else using a hook spanner wrench?

Seems strange the filter base is designed with notches typically used with spanner wrenches and no wrench offered. Plus many report this is often a very difficult filter to remove.

I've always used a strap wrench. First time filter removal is often difficult on any tractor. They are tightened up uber-tight and usually painted over with the frame painting. On first time removal - run a box knife around the filter, at the base, and cut this paint bond between the filter and the frame.

If I'm not mistaken, those Kubota filters with the notches are meant to be pretty tight - tighter than the regular style. My cheap rubber strap wrench won't do it. A large pipe wrench works well if you're careful. Just put it on the reinforced ring right at the base.

Toss the cheesy rubber strap wrench and get a real one made from fabric. Using a pipe wrench to install a filter is nuts. Even a charge pressure filter.

This x2. It took feet planted on a 24” pipe wrench to get mine loose at first service.

It's a heavy metal base so I've used a screwdriver and a hammer on it. I believe that's the one that has the magnet. If the new one doesn't have it I would swap it over, after cleaning it up, from the old one.
