Kubota "GRAY" ???

Anyone know anything about these "GRAY GHOSTS" I seen a 1700 kubota for sale .... But I understand that parts are hard to get for them??

Also it has on over 900 hours on its lil 2 cyl diesel motor... Was wondering as to how long these motors last??? the guy wants over $7k for the thing and it only has a beat up brush hog front loader for it!

I told him I thought it was only woth from $800 to maybe $2k .... the exaust pipe is very sooty dark black and thick.....

Just want to know if anyone else has one of these and where you find parts and how long these 2 cylinder diesel motors are good for!

If its grey, stay away! I have never met anyone who was glad that they purchased a grey market machine.

I bought a L3500 16 yrs. ago from a used dealer had no idea it was a grey tractor tell i looked for parts could'nt find any.
I cleaned the filters every year for 15 years with gas and changed the oil every year, paid 2000 never had one problem ever untill the rear wheel rotted and could'nt find a wheel, bought a new Kioti ck 30 and gave the tractor to a buddy for free he found a wheel brand new down in ky. FOR $100
This tractor will probably out live him and me. After getting the ck 30 i only wish i would have bought that long ago, what a nice tractor so nice and easy to drive.

Many people have been happy with grey market tractors, while others have not. But Kubota's website does not list a 1700 as a grey market tractor. Instead, they are listed here as being introduced in 1995 so they wouldn't be either "grey" or very old as far as tractor lifespans go.

wonder what lbrown has to say about that Kubota ----doesn't he own four or five so that he can keep one are two running-----????
