John Deere 4520 cab
I'm thinking about buying a L5030 with a cab. I'm concerned that it might not cool enough. I'm in Georgia where it get real hot and real humid. The specs say it has a "temperature differential" of 7 to 14 degrees. If it is 100 does that mean the cab will be 86 to 93 degrees? That doesn't sound like it would be cool enough. The John Deere 4720 cab specs say it has a 30 degree differential that sounds better. I just want to be sure I'm comparing apples to apples with the cabs.

i have a m4900 with cab and can say last summer during 95-100 degree summer days i ran the AC on low to keep from freezing. i am in north alabama where it gets hot and humid.

i believe the L tractors have smaller cabs but i dont know if the AC is smaller.

A lot of times temperature differntial when talking about heating and cooling is how much change in temperature from inlet to outlet temperature...so if the a/c is taking in 90 degree air inside the cab and cooling it say 14 degrees, it will send out 76 degree air ... after it runs a bit if its taking in 76 degree air it will put out 62 degree air, see what I mean?

I don't have a cab on my Kubota but I have never heard anyone say the a/c was anything but nice and cold.

That's what I'm concerned about. If it is taking air in at 100 from outside and only cools it 7 degrees to 93 inside or 14 degrees to 86, then that's not going to be cool enough.

Sir,

I own a L5030, and i have used the A/C in both winter and summer (so far 92F) temps. The A/C has directional vents that are very effective. If you leave them pointed at you, you will eventually re-direct them. Just for a reference, I like cold temps; where I am from we get winter down to -40. A 25F day in the winter is another mild day:)

Also, remember that you are in the steam bath (S.E. U.S.), and the de-humidifying effects of the A/C will also produce a cooling effect. (A "steamy" day for us is 30% humidity)

You will not be disappointed with the 5030 A/C. One other option for additional cooling/heating is to remove the cab top (a few screws and it's off), and line the top with thin aluminized foil/bubble insulation. A big return for little $/effort.
