What exactly is electrostatic applied paint?

Perhaps a call to your local Kubota dealer may supply you with the answer? I don't personally know the answer, but in my opinion, I would contact my Dealer. Best wishes.

I'm interested in the answer. On the B7500 I traded, the paint on the loader frame behaved a lot like powdercoat. A few pieces came off in small "chunks" where moisture had worked in underneath it. The paint on the bucket and sheet metal parts seemed more like normal paint. I sorta thought most paint in assembly line applications was electrostatically applied.

Sounds like electrostatic paint is just regular/normal paint that is applied similar to powder coat. So it would have all the same characteristics of regular sprayed paint. Just applied differently as to not waste as much in the form of overspray??

Might sound that way, but it's not. eHow.com info is often over simplistic and, many times, just plain wrong.

I spent over a decade working for a Sherwin Williams in their automotive paint division, trust me, the paint you buy at your local Kubota dealer is NOT the same stuff used at the factory.

I found this info on TBN here from another member. Thought I would pass it along.

One of the painters my company uses paints parts for Kubota. They use
Sherwin Williams:
Primer number: E61YC708
Top Coat number: F63EC31

Why isn't it the same paint? So if thats true, then how would you go about getting what they use at the factory?
