Kubota engine rebuild

I had a funny noise that did not go away in the engine. The noise also causes a vibration towards the back of the engine. I can just barely keep it running at 1000 rpm. I am going to assume that it needs a rebuild. This is a L245 diesel. 1979 model. Does anyone know what it would cost to rebuild? I have rebuilt a lot of gas engines and should be able to do a diesel myself if I can find a book.
Or is there a web site that sells rebuilts? The tractor is only worth $5000. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That sounds like bearings or valves. Anyways let me know if you decide sell the tractor. I am looking for a l245 parts tractor.
