My new BX1870 only has 30 hours on it.
I was using it on Saturday mowing, then moving some dirt. Suddenly engine RPMs fell off and it acted like it was going to stall but stayed idling rough. I shut her down waited a bit and she started right up but continued to run rough with no power. No warning lights, tank about half full, running about at normal temp.
Manged to get it back to garage. After checking oil, air filter, radiator etc. engine started up fine like nothing happened. Next day, mowed about an acre and same situation recurred.
This time when I shut her down, she wouldn't start back up. Waited about 30-40 min later, started right up like normal. Put her to bed!

Also, is there a way to disengage the HST transmission so you can push it easier? Can't find that in books.

You may have water in the fuel. With 30 hours you could not have had more than a few tanks of fuel through it.
A call to the dealer should get them to send someone out to check it out.

I'd put a new rear fuel filter on it, that is what is sounds like when the get plugged up.

It does sound fuel related. It could be really bad diesel plugging up the filter already. It could be one of misaligned safety switches making fuel solenoid kicking in and out. It could be gas (gasp) mixed in diesel.
I'd would sample the diesel from tank in glass jar for water and smell it for gas mixed in. It could be filter under tractor for diesel. I wouldn't mess with second one since there is only 30 hours on it. I would watch the fuel solenoid with hood open when it's sputtering. Check the pto switch as it has tendency to move. I had to adjust mine this week after 7years . Yours could be loose in shipping.

To push the tractor put the hi / low range handle in the middle. That will disengage the transmission.

Dealer said it would cost 300-400 to fix and I would have to deliver it.

Is there no warranty on the tractor? I would tell the dealer a Kubota with 30hrs should not run like junk.

Contact Kubota directly. Sounds like the dealer is screwy. Let them know people online are hearing about Kubota service.
