Main point of the video is the homemade cover to protect the joysticks and stabilizer controls - this makes it easier to install the tarp and reduces accidental activation of the controls. Also the cover improves safety with kids around.

I don't see the need for the legs. I'd think the barrel by itself would do as well.

Interesting. I just let mine sit flat on the slab (on a little plywood) so it can't go anywhere.

You're right but the barrel I had on hand wasn't high enough. Other alternative is build simple wood frame without barrel.
