Kubota BX 1860 Mid & Rear PTO Cover???

I am new to the site and just picked up a Kubota BX 1860 FEL & 54 MMM. I removed the deck because it won't be in service for the winter and don't have anything protecting the mid PTO from the snow and ice I am expecting soon. I looked on Kubota's website and they offer nothing and the dealer said he would look into it. I would appreciate any links or suggestions as I am worried that the PTO would wear too quick without anything covering it. Thanks.

technically there is a protection plate for mid - check this website

Or do what I did- build your own skid plate.

Agree, another benefit of the Bro-Tek rear skid plate. Has a swinging "trap door" that you close when the MMM is off so the PTO stub is protected.

Kubota offers a little cup to protect YOU from the rear PTO.
The don't provide anything, by way of a cup for the mid, which I assume is your original question.

The mid PTO is somewhat vulnerable, but so is the HST filter and rear trans casing itself, I suppose, given the low ground clearance.

Your greater concern needs to the HST cooling fan.

yeah I agree- another reason why you need a belly skid plate.

A few years ago there was a thread where someone made a cover for the mid PTO out of a short piece of PVC pipe, a pipe cap, and a large pin clip like on a trailer hitch pin. It works very good.

I need something to cover the REAR PTO drive. I saw a guy recommending a condom.
I haven't carried those things for 40 years. What's a SECOND option? and where might I buy same? thanks
