Backhoe Kubota BH65

I now have 22 hours on my B2320. Around 4 of those were digging out an intertwined Beech stump that was co-mingling with several pines. I worked the backhoe to get it out and get it out I did.

Fast forward to this past weekend. I spent some time filling in the french drain I dug out after the stump. When I parked the tractor in the garage with the hoe sitting on the ground, I shook the dipper stick and it seemed like there was a lot of play there. It may have been there when the thing was brand new, but it seemed to me the thing was rock solid and now, there is all of this play.

Am i being paranoid or are the joints and pins already starting to wear out on this very new tractor??

There is a little bit of play in all of the joints that adds up to a decent amount of movement.

When it was brand new, you probably had a nice plug of grease in all the joints that is just now starting to "wear in". When you grease it, it will feel "tighter", then get back to the same condition after an hour or two. My backhoe is a bit of a rattletrap if you sit there and jiggle it around.

I'm quite confident that the joints aren't wearing out.

x2 on the grease. After a few times re-greasing and working all of the pins, the grease will be evenly distributed. You will notice as you put some hrs. on the machine after greasing, a little slop will return. Heavy use, grease daily. Less use, 10 hrs or so.

Come to think of it, it is overdue by an hour on the 10 hour interval for grease. I will give it another shake after it gets greased. Thanks for the comments.
