Kubota b7300 Hst

The middle and rear pto shaft spin freely, but when powered up and engaged at the 540 range nothing spins. I had a brush hog and hit a stump and the rear pto shaft cover cracked and lost a lot of fluid. I replaced rear pto bearing,seal and pto rear housing. Now I am hookiing up a post hole digger and it will not spin when engage. Do you think that the shear bolts sheared, and I don't know if it even has them. If it does how difficult are they to replace. Everything else works great, the loader, the three point hitch, sure would like some feed back on this. Thanks in advance, Cayetano

There is no internal shear pin on any tractor that I know of. You state the pto will not spin at 540. Does your tractor have other rpm settings like my B7100? If yes, will it spin at any other rpm setting? Sorry to say but it sounds like internal damage.

Thanks for your time, I was hoping that it would not involve tearing into the the main rear assembly. I will check with the kubota dealer at the cost for repairs. I won't start the repairs till winter so I can use my tractor this spring. Kubota gave me a picture of the rear assembly and it shows pins holding the pto shaft but they are internal. I am not sure I want to tackle tearing it down without a manual or video for repairs. Has anyone out there repaired the rear axle assembly pto shaft, and if so, how difficult was it on a b7300 hst kubota. Thanks again Cayetano

my novice thoughts are if something is broke/loose/whatever internal then using the tractor at all may cause more damage from the floating debris - so the least expensive fix maybe to just do it right off

I agree 100per cent, more damage can be prevented. When the pto shaft case cracked, I turned it off. Removed the tiller I was using, and removed the cracked case and bearing that came apart. The shaft is not bent and spins freely drained the fluid and continued spinning the shaft for foreign material, and nothing came out of the drain hole. Ordered the cover and bearing and new fluid, replaced everthing and that has been 5 years ago and the tractor runs fine other than the Pto. When I engage the pto unit it does not turn, in any of the three settings, and it turns freely by hand, and that is why I thought there was a shear pin. I do thank you once again. Cayetano
