Kubota B3350 tractor regeneration problems

I moved the inlet to the intake snorkel from in front of the radiator shroud to behind it, and it immediately stopped the air filter plugging issue on my B2650. As others pointed out, it was only an issue in light dry snow with high wind.

I question the comment about Europeans drilling holes in their DPF to effectively eliminate it because my experience living in multiple West European countries is they do not allow anything like this under penalty of a major fine or if intentional, possible prison time. I had to have my car inspected yearly at a certified station. It was a several hour serious check. Any suspicion of an oil leak takes your car off the road as one example. Emissions items all checked and properly working. They are much more serious about well tuned vehicles than the USA - based on living in 3 West European countries and 4 USA states.

I was probably the one who posted that, and was reporting on what I've read on many other forums when researching the issue. Simply search using the phrase <drilling holes to bypass dpf> and I'm sure you can find enough posts and comments to assure yourself that they can't all be liars. Most are in reference to bypassing DPF's on diesel cars.

I sure won't be the first one to experiment by destroying the DPF with a drill . . . at least not unless or until I can be assured that the computer won't go goofy, or without a way to compensate for the leaner mixture that would likely result. I do think it's a real shame that this kind of &*%$ is foisted on what is essentially a low use, minimally polluting vehicle.

Well I for one don't mind being prepared for the winter. Putting on storm doors and removing/draining hoses as well as other stuff(tire change-over to studded winter tires) is just part of getting ready up here. To that I'll add installing short downward facing air intake to tractor. Hopefully we won't have a repeat of that fine snow and cold weather of last winter!I appreciate the dealer giving me a heads up on the info he's learned.
In the end, maybe Kubota will sell a cold weather option package that includes a block heater, cold weather intake, and heater for fuel tank to reduce gelling!

I purchased a new B3350. Had it since January. No Regen issues. It has regened twice and I have about 50 hours on it. As far as I am concerned, the fix worked out fine. I would rather have the regen than be forced to purchse def fluid.

Agree with the def fluid. From what I read, that can be more of an issue than regens......as with anything new it takes a bit to get the bugs worked out. Now that I have been through my first regen I know what to do and not do as well as what to expect. Too bad Kubota didn't make a video showing the regen process with the driver variables such as parked regen and all that good stuff. Might have made things easier and caused them to have less problems in the field. In the long run would have saved them money!

so.. there will never be def fluid on anything under 75 Hp unless the EPA decides to implement Tier 5, which there are details for but no implementation date. The existing DPF systems meet the requirements for tier 4 final, some other DOC systems a handful of other vendors are using right now will have to change.

We're not confident there is a 100% fix for the reformer issue, we'll need to go though another winter until we really know. We all know now that he root problem is the engine is running too cold. Best interm solution i heard was a dealer who created a kind of tractor-bra to hold the heat in. I have zero worries about Kubota with this issue. Its well documented, they will make it right.

10-4 on the def fluid! I think my 3350 has been updated with dpf and thermostat and will ready for the coming winter. Can't wait to plow and blow snow in the warmth of a cab!

That's the answer right there. Kubota has solidified it's dominant market share by making things right when they need to be made right. They stand behind their stuff and there really are no worries. Kubota will do what it takes to make things right.
