So this is probably a real rookie mistake on my part but I can't figure it out and I hope someone can help me.

So as you see in the picture, our Kubota B26 seat can't turn around because the arms of the PTO are lifted. I am assuming that they fold down and the orange plate/shield piece flaps back down over them but I can't get them to go down. I have tried the controls that are supposed to lift or lower them both with the PTO engaged and without and it is completely unresponsive. What am I doing wrong? Is it broken or do I need to detach the backhoe to be able to operate those arms? Please help!

Don't mess with the PTO. Make sure that the valve in front of the seat is open, then stand on the arms. They won't generally go down under their own weight.

Thanks Jay! That was it. Right in front of my face. I can't believe I couldn't figure that out myself.

I had to do this today on my b26. Is there anyway standing on the arms and manually releasing them could cause a no start condition? Now, the tractor is not starting.....sigh.

I imagine the Bs are the same as the BXs on this score. One of Ks poorly engineered systems imho. Those seats get tiresome when you are using the BH and moving the tractor a lot. Due to price point on the SCUTS I am sure they all have their less than desirable features. I still love my BX after 1500 Hours.

Turned out to be a fuse for the seat sensor. All set now, which is good as I have a lot of holes to dig.

Interesting that a fuse is blown in the PO circuit. I have noted a number of fuse problems being reported lately. In 1500 hours I am yet to experience a fuse blown on my BX. Maybe my turn is right around the corner.

Yeah, true. This is a new to me tractor. The previous owner apparently put a 25amp in there. The diagram calls for a 5amp. I put a 5amp back in there; only time will tell if that works. Hope there is not some wiring or other reason why someone put a 25 in there.

sounds like you have a short some where and I am surprised the 25 amp fuse didn't show you exactly where it was. I have had a problem with my B26 before with the seat switch lever for when the seat is rotated, the lever would not make the switch up.

Good point. Would anyone happen to have a wiring diagram for the B26? If I just remove that seat switch, I'd like to know what else may be affected. Thanks,
