Hello I am new here, I ordered a L3130 and it is coming next week. Just have a couple of questions. Does anybody know how it is for digging in sandy dirt and how large of a cultivator will it pull. I got a real good price on the 3130 so I really hope it will work for me. I have 10 acres of land I am developing. Not in a big rush to do it though. Thanks.

What tires do you have? I have found that with my sandy soil I can spin my tire (R4s) in low gear although 4wd does help. Haven't tried to pull a cultivator.

Does it have the 723 loader??? In sandy type soil it will dig well whatever loader you have on there. As for the cultivator I never pulled one with mine. I have a 72 inch bucket on my 723 loader in front of a 3130 and it digs very well. I'm happy with it....

Your machine is a great selection for the 10 acre parcel. I have not had a lot of success digging w/ a loader, but I do not have a toothbar. Many people on the site swear by them!

What type of terrain is present on your place? Did you fill the tires?

Enjoy your purchase...

Marty,

I have the 3130DT (FST) with R1 tires. I have two types of soil on my property, red clay and a sandy river bottom. I pull a 6' disc in the sandy bottom and have buried it at times and the R1's and 4wheel drive will pull it with no problem. Of course I try not to bury the disc but sometimes when not paying attention it happens. I don't think you would have a problem pulling a 6' cultivator with R1's. I have never used R4's so I don't know how they would do.
