im working on a skid steer for a friend she just lost her spouse and he was working on there skid steer witch the use for wood the problem is there is a small 2in by 4in plate with a piece of threaded rod about 4in long don't know what it is or were it goes there is no numbers on this machine all I know is its a bobcat any help would be appreceated

Not sure if I can help, but take photos of the Bobcat from both sides, front, & rear with rear door open to see engine, also a photo of the part of the part in question. post pictures here and I will see if I can figure out what you have.
