Does anyone know what the 2 solenoids on top of the steering pump do and how to check if they are the problem. I've tried everything else.
Best I recall there are no solenoids on the pump but slave cylinders on the steering actuators, I believe those are dry clutches and if it’s sat any length of time they are probably frozen/rusted from moisture.Does anyone know what the 2 solenoids on top of the steering pump do and how to check if they are the problem. Thanks for getting back to me. It sat for 7 years under roof. I was hoping not to tear into the clutches. I was getting oil to the slave cylinders.Best I recall there are no solenoids on the pump but slave cylinders on the steering actuators, I believe those are dry clutches and if it’s sat any length of time they are probably frozen/rusted from moisture.
If the actuators are working and you have room you could try running the machine back and forth or under load while steering one way or the other, may jar it loose depending on how bad it is, dry clutches can indeed be a pain, good luck with it.Thanks for getting back to me.
