We've had this over-priced object for about ten years, and I've only had to remove the lid once during that time. I need to get the lid off again, and it seems to be stuck. This is one of those toilets with a pull rod in the middle of the lid. I can't recall if I need to unscrew the trim ring around the pull rod or if the lid just lifts off. That is, is the trim ring holding the lid down, or is the lid just stuck and I need to force it a bit? Anyone know? I can always go to one of the stores to see, but I figured I'd ask the TBN experts first.

Turns out the lid is just stuck, probably by hard water deposits. The trim ring doesn't lock the lid down or anything. Time for the rubber mallet and maybe some vinegar or CLR.
