Won't help either. Counter weight for three point hitch implements has to be as far forward as possible. If your loader by itself isn't enough, put something heavy in the bucket.

I suppose I could modify the hitch if needed. To be honest I got accustomed to my friends old bush hog that had a chain running from the top link of the cutter to the deck. That worked well, but I believe that could be dangerous. As long as I can get some pivoting at the top link area I don't think I will have any problems on any of the cutters.

I agree, I don't think it will be too difficult to make a U bracket. I have been planning to build my own chain guards for the front and back of the cutter. I saw a former post on here where someone took angle iron to make their guards. The dealer wants too much for something so simple.

a few pieces of angle iron, handfull of 1/4" hardware, and a truck mudflap made a great front and rear guard for my mower. cheap too. 4$ for the flap.. used 2.. 2 6' irons.. etc

Soundguy, I had considered doing that with mining conveyer belts, but the belts are too stiff. In your opinion do you think that would work better than the chains? The chains may add unnecessary weight to the cutter depending on how big the chain links are now that I think about it.
