Hi folks..gravelman from So NH i have a Kodiak 60" heavy duty rotary cutter... i am unable to find replacement blades, there are two. This seems very strange to me not finding anyone with blades to fit. I have had it two years and this is my first time replacing blades. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. They are 24 1/2 " long, 4" wide and bolt hole of 1 1/8th i guess that is pretty much standard???

Not sure about your specific model, but I was finding parts : HERE

You can also browse through Rotary Cutter Supply for the correct blades.

When I was getting blades for my Titan, I had to go through the Titan dealer to get them.

WD40 and a long breaker bar (and a helper) will be your friends. Good luck!

Thats what I was wondering.
My brush hog is over 10 yrs old & I sharpened the blades once.

a few rocks...here an there....could probably take em off and grind them but i worry about balance etc.... and besides, it should be very easy to get new ones...i thought

If the nicks are bad enough to worry about, grind them a bit. Lift it up, block for safety, then hit them with a grinder, making the same number of passes on both blades. No need to take the nicks completely out and you don't want lawn mower sharp blades anyways, keep them blunted.

Oh, and those blade bolts are on there to the tune of 650ft-lbs, so not the easiest things to change anyways :)

I have 2 brush hogs that are 20 plus yrs old , original blades , as others have said ,touch em up with a grinder and you are good to go, If you just have to replace i believe agri supply sells kodiak mowers.

Ok on that also...i must admit ive been in some rough fields and the blades have taken a beating...i was afraid they would get off balance.

I agree that its OK to have spare blades around but like others have mentioned, changing them is a pain in the %$@(! I'd sharpen them in place and $10 says they'll still be balanced. :giggle:
