Well, I finally had my first problem with the CK20. I had been working all morning (5 hrs or so) backblading the driveway and moving some top soil. I shut her down to go in for lunch (1/2 hr) and when I went back to working with the tractor, I noticed the loader will only lift off of the ground about 1' and then stop. I still have full use of the curling action and it still has good lifting capacity for that first 1'.

I am stumped... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Any ideas ?

You should probably call your dealer first,
yeah, yeah, I know, we're closed /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If you don't get it figured out here, give us a call Monday morn

I called you guys today at 3:00 pm right after I found out. It would be nice to have your hours on the website or at least on the answer machine.

Does it seem to stop hard at the one foot mark or just sort of slow down and stop? To troubleshoot, try swapping hoses at the QD's. If problem is gone then the curl should be bad. If its still the same, something wrong with the cylinder(s) or possibly something mechanical. Does float still work? If so can you put it in the float position and jack it up somehow past the one foot mark to see if something is jamming in a cylinder or binding elsewhere. Just a few thoughts that pass my pea brain.

It stops rather slowly just like it's hitting a relief valve or something.

That's a good idea, I think I will try that. I did just hook up the backhoe today, but I doubt that had anything to do with it.

The float position still works fine. Tomorrow I will try and jack it up in the float position. I will also take a video to post.

Thanks for your help !

We're always here 8:00am to 5:pm during the week.
8:00-12:00 on Saturdays
or as long as there are people coming in.

When the days get longer, we're here from sun up to sun down. And sometimes Sundays.

When I update the website next week, I'll post the hours

Give a call Monday if your still having a problem, but I'll let Eric know anyway.

Did the problem start right after you installed the backhoe? when the loader lifts, 2 things happen, oil is pumped inot one side of the cylinder and returned out the other. you might double check all your quick connects and make sure they are fully connected. Might be 1 foot is how far it will move before the pressure builds on the back side of the cylinders to the point of kicking in thePR valve...

I installed the backhoe early in the morning about 7am and this didn't start until about 2pm or so. The backhoe still works great, I spent the rest of the afternoon digging up some stumps I needed out of the way.

Just some shots in the dark, but make sure your diverter valve is all the way in the 3:00 position, and that all the quick attaches are connected solidly.
Make sure there is nothing, like limb or something, blocking the loader from coming up all the way.
Start the tractor, lift the loader all the way it will go, curl and roll back a couple of times and then power it down to the ground.
If that doesn't work, try turning off the diverter valve, start the tractor just for a few seconds, then turn the diverter back again to 3:00 position and try the loader again.

Check hydro fluid level? Maybe the backhoe hogged too much.

Even disconnect the BH and see if it works again.
