Just got a fax today from Kioti tractor, product support manager, Robert Kemp. It reads...

We have recieved reports of cosmetic cracks developing on the torque tube (cross member between the arms of the boom) of some KL120 & KL130 loaders. While we have had no reports of failures resulting from these cracks, our engineers are working to design a suitable solution for this issue. One the information is ready to be released, KIOTI will notify you (the dealers) with further information regarding this issue.

So the problem is in the process of being addressed for all those concerned. I will post more as soon as I hear of it.
Thanks to all TBN readers.

Glad to see official notice. Regardless, cracks in ANY structural member of an item in use are not cosmetic. They propagate steadily as the item flexes during use. Even a crack in a cosmetic piece that is welded to a structural member can be a threat because it can cross into the structural member at the weld.

That is precisely the sort of statement we've been requesting. Better late than never. Things are looking up in Kiotiland. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

not really! They never said they are going to fix/repair all kl120/kl130 loaders. I think the statement should have said we are going to address all Kl120/KL130 loaders.

It has been said that admitting that you have a problem is the first step in correcting it would certainly appropriately apply here. Until this post, as far as I know none of us with defective loaders had officially heard that Kioti acknowledged a systemic problem or that they were researching a universal fix. We were basically left to work it out as best we could with our local dealers and hope that it held together. Now we can move forward. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As far as Kioti accepting ideas from NOVICES, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif the computer industry has advanced by leaps and bounds by using beta testing techniques and the adaptation of feedback from a select group of advanced users. Ultimately the same people who will be purchasing and using their products. What makes the tractor industry different? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Considering all options is a no-brainer regardless of the source. No one has tried to profiteer from Kioti but have freely put forth their ideas in a public forum and into the public domain for the benefit of all participants. This comradery and exchange of ides and knowledge is why I for one participate in this forum.

I agree good point. Kioti needs to correct them all not just the ones that are cracked.
