If you don't want all the tier 4 emissions crap, then get rid of the new stuff and get an older tractor.

   / Kioti Tractor Tuning #23
I say, run what have or get rid of it.
If you need to modify it, then obviously, it is not the right machine for you.
If you can make it a better machine, please forward the information to Kioti so they can correct it!

Being able to delete the EGR and DPF once the tractor is out of warranty is a big thing. The last time my Dodge Ram with the Cummins diesel was in the shop they replaced the DPF and something in the DEF system (part of a recall). Service guy said that parts alone listed at $7K. At least I did not have to directly pay for it. If I keep the truck past 100K miles it will be deleted at the first sign of trouble.

Not everyone agrees with that statement. Including myself. That's why there is a large and growing AG tuning aftermarket.

I don't want an old tractor. I also don't want the EPA regulations to have me by the b@lls if there's ever an issue with the DPF filter. They are very expensive systems to replace.

Tuning for HP is a good option for guys that bought a smaller hp tractor in a frame size and want an upgrade for a much lower cost then selling your current tractor and buying a larger. Ie nx4510 vs nx6010.

DPF deleting would increase power, fuel economy, and remove the giant fire hazard from the engine bay for people like myself who purchase newer tractors for brush hogging.

Law breakers.... Modified emissions....
But.... Our country does not enforce the laws they make anyway.

I'm just stating the facts. Modifying the emissions system is against the law.
I know it is done all over the country. There really is no way to enforce this.

We are all aware that removing emission systems is illegal. But millions of people have removed them since the 70's when they started putting EGR systems in. If I own the machine, I will do what I please with it.

Jay walking, window tint, speeding a little, and many other laws people break daily. Plus I'm in Alberta, Canada. No EPA, and no one gives a crap about emission deleting. Deleted that crap off all my vehicles.

I'm sure many others would like that option as well.

I'm with you and others with the same thinking, Boss. A lot of us want newer tractors for their refinements over the years.............minus the expensive and problematic DPF baggage.

The manufacturer spent all that time and money on development to comply with federal government.
Now some of us want to spend our time and money trying to eliminate the systems.

Yep, not everything our government bureaucrats impose on us is beneficial.

Just remember... Modified emissions or electronics will void the warranty.
It might also mean no trade value to a dealer.
Would you buy a tractor that has been modified with no warranty?

I think what most people want is another option after the warrantee has expired. I doubt that many people would spend a big chunk of cash to defeat an emission system that the manufacturer will repair for free for at least the first five years of ownership. Ten years down the road it might be a different game.

There are shops that make a living deleting the EGR.. DPF... DEF systems.
I'm quite aware of this.
I work at a domestic car dealership.
We have voided warranty on vehicles.
They won't even take one in on trade because of the liability.

I'm with Hillwood on the DPF, EGR, DEF issue. I'm with Eric and Boss Tractor on the idea of jacking the HP on the smaller NXs by tweaking the fuel delivery.

In fact, Boss Tractor must have been reading my mail. ;) I love my NX4510 HST Cab, and the HP is everything I need 95% of the time.. In fact, I even love the DPF system. But, every once in awhile I could use the additional 15 HP that Eric has on his NX6010. So, if I had a do-over, I'd probably go with the NX6010, which was only about $2K more at the time. It's my understanding that the engines are identical, and that the difference is programming for fuel delivery. If so, why not, once past warranty period (which is admittedly a long one)? :scratchchin:

Just asking rhetorically, as I doubt I'd actually go to the trouble of doing it.

BTW, anyone have thoughts on whether tweaking HP by upping fuel delivery would implicate EPA requirements? I'm assuming not, if the DPF system is the same in both models.

That痴 typically what those plug地恥lay tuning boxes do. Most of the time people don稚 have any problems with them, but sometimes they do have problems. Depending on your engine, the increased cylinder pressure can stretch the head bolts and cause a head gasket leak. Probably not a problem on an under tuned engine, however, you would probably want to change the injection timing also.

In a CRDI system the injection timing is controlled by the ECM.
I work on new Diesel trucks at my job.
I do believe that the horse power difference between these tractors is just a different program.
A different sequence of ones and zeros.
I would have to have some kind of proof...
Dyno testing before and after... Along with a few hours of full power operation... Then oil samples.
Bottom line... A garentee with warranty and paperwork to back it up.
