kioti nx4510 hst cab
My 4510 hst front end loader got stuck in the float position. While pulling on the joystick the cable pulled out of its crimp. The dealer put a new cable on and replaced the entire front end loader valve assembly. Apparently there was corrosion in the detent, and the valve. Everything is good now. All was covered under warranty.

My CK30hst was hard to get into float after two years with two Winters. It was worse when below 32"F. I had taken off the silver caps that are on the front of the loader valve assembly and had found some moisture and corrosion. One is for the curl and the other is for lift, drop, float. I cleaned the caps well, put grease inside the caps, and used a very slight amount of silicone seal on the surface that mates with the valve. The cap for float has three small steel balls that need to move so it will lock into and out of the float position. It's been eight years now since the cleaning and it's works like new. There was a post at least a year or more ago where other members had the same problem.

Use in snow or salt?

The dealer wanted to replace the detent but Kioti told him to replace the whole thing. The tractor is less than a year old.

No salt but lots of snow.

The fault as I've understood what you shared is where the cables enter into the loader valve assembly, right?

I don't think the corrosion entered through the top. It is more likely that it entered through the bottom at the detent. Packing it with grease and using silicon to seal it sounds like a good idea. But, the dealer led me to believe, that in this instance, the corrosion entered the valve assembly before it was assembled to the tractor.

Interesting. Are you anywhere near the sea air where (from my Minnesotan perspective) weird rust happens?

FWIW, as one of the zillion things I did as prep after finding a corroded bolt on my transmission, was to bolt on a sacrificial anode.

I don't know if the corrosion was from sitting next to highway 10 over a winter or from sea transport.

This is the anode I used.

Anyway, here in Minnesota our MNDOT uses zinc sacrificial anodes to slow corrosion on our bridges (see p. 36 at link).

No sea air anywhere near here.

hummmm... isn't that thing you bought for a boat? At the very least wouldn't it have to be buried in the ground to do any good? In any event, bolts will rust without salt... and rust on a tractor bolt isn't abnormal is it?
